Happy CSA Day 2017!

It’s the last Friday in this rainy winter month of February, but it nearly feels like spring! With over eleven hours of daylight we’re beginning to feel the urge to enjoy the outdoors again. We’re looking forward to spring blossoming in the fruit trees and bringing out the birds, and little flowers popping up everywhere. Heck, we even started spring cleaning this month! But with all the baby seedlings in the greenhouse, what we’re really excited for is the bounty of colorful and flavorful veggies to be harvested.

Maybe that’s why CSA Day is celebrated on this day. Records show that farmers receive the most sign-ups for their CSAs on the last Friday in February, when everyone starts looking forward to fresh grown spring and summer vegetables and longer evenings to enjoy them with.

Dare 2 Dream Farms’ Spring CSA begins on Thursday, April 6th, and runs for 13 weeks. If you’re a local Lompoc resident, you can sign up on our website at www.dare2dreamfarms.com/onlinestore to receive a beautiful and bountiful weekly box of locally grown, organic vegetables for Spring, Summer, and Fall!

To celebrate CSA day, we are offering a Free 1/2 Dozen Eggs with your produce boxes each week when you sign up TODAY, February 24th, 2017, for our Spring 2017 CSA Membership. Use code: CSADAY17 at checkout, and we will add the eggs to your order at no additional charge.

We would like to thank the beautiful Community of Lompoc who makes our CSA possible every season, the WWOOF-USA work-stay guests who dig into the garden and help with everything from planting to harvesting, and Baker Creek and Johnny’s for the beautiful seeds we get to see to fruition each year.
